Restoring stream using faggots, the faggots were used to narrow the stream which resulted in a faster flow between the faggots. This faster flow removed the silt from the bed and exposed the gravel bed. The flow ethier side of the faggots slowed and the marginal aquatic plants naturally established.
One example of a river restoration project is the on the River Kennet, pictures are here.
