Contracting in Flood defence, restoration and environmental improvement of rivers, lakes and ponds

As contractors we specialise in river and lake restoration, slope stabilisation and de-siltation. The projects we work on range from the small stabilisation of a stream at the end of a garden, to the construction of lakes and flood defence work for the Environment Agency, main contractors or councils.  We are able to use our own plant and experienced installation teams, supported by strong in-house technical support.

Over the last 20 years we have developed expertise in waterside construction techniques and where possible we construct using natural, sustainable solutions that will stand the test of time, combining traditional and innovative methods, encouraging wildlife and meeting economic concerns equally well. We apply techniques that have been researched, tried and tested. For more information please look under our heading solutions.

Spiling is the most common and best known green solution for bank revetment. The technique uses woven living willow to form flexible, live, growing structures which resist and deflect water flows, enabling the bank and vegetation to naturally re-generate and stabilise to prevent further erosion.

Desilt and dredging

Desilting a lake using our specially modified excavator, pumps were used to dewater the lake into a lower lake, the water was pumped through desiltation bags. The silt was moved mechanically into a area in the wood and placed behind a geo-textile lagoon.
